Technology Update

It's been a little over a week now, and I'm enjoying being a blogger...EXCEPT for the pesky uploading of pictures and videos!!!!! I am still having trouble doing this! The pictures and the video that are posted are a result of countless efforts to get each to post. Each item takes me literally a few days worth of tries to successfully upload.

I've tried using internet explorer and firefox. I've tried uploading from my flickr account. (This works, but I can only put one picture on each post. Plus the pic is very small, and the resolution is terrible if I try to enlarge it.) I've also tried resizing my images. Nothing is helping.

If anyone out there has any suggestions, I'd be THRILLED to hear them!

On a positive note, I was able to figure out how to change the parameters on my comments. My mom and my friend, Chris, will be excited to know that! I think I've set it so that now "anyone" can leave comments. You don't have to have a yahoo account or a profile to add your two cents. Anyone wanna give it a try? :-)

And PLEASE, someone let me know what I should do to get these pictures to upload on the first try! I'm dying to know!!!

  1. I have never tried blogging myself, so I cannot help with the picture problem. But I am glad that you are doing this, so I can keep up with the Weavers!

  2. Hey Beckaroo--

I wish I had some ideas. I actually use a ftp program (short for file-transfer-protocal) but I would think there are answers out there. Try typing "problem uploading pictures blogger" in google and see what comes up. Or something like that.

I keep thinking of your drummer everytime I read "Hand Hand Fingers Thumb" by Al Perkins. It's in the easy reader section of the library and it's one of the first books our boys have been able to read independantly: it's all about monkeys that use drums! I bet Ben would enjoy it.

A sampling: "Bye Bye, Jake." "Bye-bye, Jack." "Dum ditty, dum ditty, whack! whack! whack!"

Thanks for the anonymous profiling. :-)

  3. Hi Becky, this is Erin testing the anonymous comment thing.

That video of Ben was amazing!

What precise problem are you having w/ uploading the pictures? I'm not sure I can help, but I might have some ideas. Have you tried uploading a picture from someone else's computer? That might narrow down whether it's your computer or your blogger account that's at fault.

  4. Hello Weavers,
Becky, I've been checking out your site from time to time. However, I'm so technologically impaired that I just figured out how to post a comment. Therefore, I have no suggestions for your picture-posting problems, but I wanted to say hi anyway. Keep up the good work!

  5. Well I might be able to help with posting pictures. Megan and I have been blogging for a while now and we don't seem to have any problems. You and I are using the same blogger too so that should help! It's sort of tough to explain, so next time we come over, I'll take a look if you'd like me to.

    Sound good?!?!
